Research M-Pride Genetics is committed to assist our customers with their goal of maximizing yields and profitability on every acre they farm. As an independent and regional company, M-Pride performs research specific to our service area. We know our customers want hybrid corn seed and soybean varieties with the latest traits and proven yield results. To achieve this lofty goal we work with all trait providers, including Monsanto, Dow Agro and Dupont/Syngenta (Greenleaf). Each of these biotech trait platforms are evaluated in elite genetics in the testing program. The pipeline of oncoming traits in 2009 through 2015 is of awesome proportions when compared to the release of the first Roundup Ready event in 1995. Plant genes using drought tolerance, improved nitrogen utilization, third generation corn rootworm and corn borer as well as food ingredient constituents will be represented in both hybrid and variety genetics that make-up the biotech seed product of the future. With customer needs changing as trait seed needs change, our search for the right elite genetics with the right trait complex placed on your farm is our highest goal. We work closely with industry’s top breeder programs and select their best elite genetics for our Testing Program. Hundreds of new hybrids and varieties are then regionally tested in yield contest, with winners branded as an M-Pride brand. These genetics truly represent the industry’s best offerings with multiple trait options and bin busting yields that are proven ready for your farm. Winners of the Testing Program have performed at multiple sites in a competitive format that includes both leading competitors and current M-Pride hybrids and varieties. The “side x side” testing approach has proven many times to be the most effective way to select new seed products for your farm. Current branded hybrids and seed varieties have risen to stardom and maintained their edge by their winning performance in the Testing Program. Only the best seed products in the customer’s field and “side x side” plots survive as our branded product. Our goal at M-Pride is to find production practices that identify the “best management practices” for each hybrid.
